Race Car Trailers
A race trailer does more than move the car — it’s the pit, the prep area, and sometimes the place you sleep between heats. Hunt’s Custom Cargo builds and carries race trailers from the Hook & Line 8.5×20 — one of the most-searched race trailer builds in the lineup — through 8.5×28 and 8.5×32 living-quarters configurations with a full wet bath, bed, and galley. All race builds are 8.5 feet wide, giving your car proper clearance on both sides and enough ceiling height to work standing up. The Blackout Package is available across the range.

Reviews About Our Race Car Trailers
About Race Car Trailers
A race car trailer isn’t just a box on wheels. In fact, it’s your mobile garage, trackside workshop, and race day command center. At Hunts Custom Cargo, we know that a safe and efficient trip to the track is your first step toward a podium finish. Therefore, we engineer our trailers with features built for the modern racer. This applies to both our proven layouts and our ground-up custom builds.
Engineered for Low Clearance & Effortless Loading
Loading a low-profile car can be the biggest challenge for any racer. You need to avoid damaging expensive splitters and bodywork. Fortunately, our race trailers solve this problem with a standard beavertail floor. This design lowers the final few feet of the trailer deck, which reduces the ramp’s angle. Additionally, we pair this with a heavy-duty rear ramp door that includes an integrated extension flap. Together, these features create a long, gentle path from the pavement to the trailer. As a result, you can protect your car and make loading a stress-free job.
Smart Tools for a Safer Paddock
Once you align your car, the work is just beginning. That’s why we build our haulers to accommodate an electric winch. Complete with a dedicated battery and reinforced mount, a winch is a vital tool for safety and control. For instance, it allows you to guide your vehicle in smoothly without straining your clutch. Furthermore, we include a strategically placed side escape door. This extra-wide door gives you plenty of room to exit your car. Consequently, you won’t have to crawl awkwardly through a window after you secure your vehicle.
Your Trackside Workshop, Organized for Speed
Winning at the track requires preparation and organization. For this reason, an empty trailer simply won’t cut it. Our race packages feature finished interiors to transform your hauler into a true workspace. For example, we integrate heavy-duty aluminum cabinets for your fluids and gear. We also add a sturdy workbench for trackside repairs. Most importantly, we install versatile tie-down systems like E-Track or D-Rings. These are essential for securing your vehicle, spare tires, and tool chests. Ultimately, these proven features form the foundation of our popular models and provide the starting point for your custom build.

FAQ's About Our Race Car Trailers
What size enclosed trailer do I need for a race car?
The 8.5×20 is the most common single-car race trailer — it fits most full-size race cars with a few feet left for a tool bench or equipment storage. If you want a nose section for living quarters or a proper workspace, the 8.5×24 gives you that room without adding too much tow weight. For a two-car setup, the 8.5×28 or larger is the right call. Browse the race trailer lineup or call Hunt’s to confirm fit for your specific build. Can I get a race trailer with a bathroom and living quarters?
Yes — the 8.5×24 and longer builds have room for a full living-quarters layout: a wet bath with shower, a bed, a small galley, and still a garage for the car. Hunt’s builds these to order. See the race trailer with bathroom and living quarters guide, or design your LQ race build to spec. What's the difference between a race trailer and a toy hauler?
In practice, the difference is the intended use and interior layout. A race trailer is configured for a single car and a workspace — tool storage, tyre racks, work bench. A toy hauler is configured for recreational vehicles (ATVs, side-by-sides, motorcycles) with a larger garage and sometimes a living space up front. The structural build is the same; the interior is what separates them. If you want the LQ option on a race build, see the toy hauler page for the overlap, or design a hybrid layout to spec. Can I add air conditioning and power to my race trailer?
Absolutely. Adding a 110V electrical package (with outlets and lighting) and a rooftop air conditioning unit are two of our most popular upgrades. These options can be included in a build-to-order model or as part of a fully custom trailer design.
What are the advantages of E-Track over D-Rings for securing my car?
D-Rings provide incredibly strong, fixed anchor points. E-Track is a system of rails that offers dozens of anchor points, providing much more flexibility for strapping down not only your car but also various other items like toolboxes, pit carts, and tire racks. Many of our trailers include both for maximum versatility.
